Developed by Rivi Magnetics, the M-Tecs P Thermoplastic Series consists of high-temperature-resistant, intelligent, and safety-oriented magnetic mold clamping systems specifically designed for thermoplastic injection molding machines. These systems replace conventional mechanical clamping solutions, dramatically reducing mold changeover times, increasing production safety, and lowering the total cost of ownership.
The M-Tecs P series can be integrated into all injection molding machines operating within a 20 °C - 240 °C temperature range and can be applied to both new machines and existing machine parks without requiring any mold modification.
Operating Principle and Magnetic Technology
In the system developed by Rivi Magnetics, the magnetic force is directed directly into the mold body. This creates a uniform, full-surface contact between the mold and the magnetic platen. Even distribution of the magnetic field minimizes localized stress, deformation, and mold bending.
The system is available with three different magnetic pole configurations:
Long Pole
Square Pole
Combined Pole (Long + Square)
This design allows very high clamping forces even with small molds, while enabling maximum utilization of the machine platen surface.
Technical Performance and Numerical Data
Operating temperature range: 20 - 240 °C
Magnetic platen thickness: 47 - 55 mm
Magnetic clamping force: 105 tons/m²
(on solid surfaces without channels or cavities)
Mold changeover time: less than 8 minutes
Magnetic field distribution: 100% uniform
Mold modification required: None
CE compliance: EN 201 / EN 289
Power consumption: Practically zero (only during magnetization)
FES - Force Evaluation System (Optional)
M-Tecs P systems can optionally be equipped with the FES (Force Evaluation System), which dynamically and predictively calculates the required clamping force based on mold dimensions and surface characteristics.
Benefits of FES technology:
Continuous monitoring of magnetic clamping safety
Early detection of mold slippage or separation risks
Enhanced operator and machine safety
Stable and reliable process control
FES can be monitored via a touchscreen or tablet and supports remote access through an Ethernet connection.
