Aoki machines can blow neck as well as body sections. This enables neck lightweighting within a range that will not affect closure fit.
- No special molding is required.
- General purpose closures can be used.
- Though it depends on neck shape, as a yardstick, narrow necks up to about Φ20mm can be lightened by 0.5-1g, medium-sized up to about Φ40mm by 2-3g, and wide mouth up to about Φ80mm by 4-6g or more.
- Neck lightweighting involves reducing the thickness of neck section walls within a range that will not affect closure fit. This both saves molding material and shortens the molding cycle.
