ALFA ROBOT TITAN SERIES 650T-6000T INJECTION MOLDING ROBOTIC ARMS
Full Servo Traverse Beam Robots for Heavy-Tonnage Injection Molding Machines
The Alfa Robot Titan Series is a full servo-driven, heavy-duty traverse beam robotic arm series specifically developed for horizontal plastic injection molding machines ranging from 650 tons to 6000 tons. Designed to deliver maximum speed, high payload capacity, and superior structural rigidity in the production of large, heavy, and technical plastic parts, the Titan Series represents Alfa Robot's top-tier solution for heavy-tonnage automation applications.
Titan Series robots are widely used in industries such as automotive, logistics, home appliances, infrastructure, and large industrial plastic manufacturing. They provide high performance in part take-out, runner removal, multi-part handling, and complex extraction scenarios. Thanks to AC servo motors used on all axes, the system offers significantly more stable, faster, and more controlled operation compared to pneumatic or hybrid robotic systems.
GENERAL TECHNICAL STRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL DESIGN
Titan Series robots are built with high-rigidity aluminum alloy beams, heavy-duty steel structural components, and industrial-grade linear guide systems. A special belt bypass mechanism used on the traverse and vertical axes minimizes vibration at high speeds while maintaining positioning accuracy over long stroke movements. The crosswise axis is driven by a rack-and-pinion system, ensuring stable and precise positioning even under heavy payload conditions.
The robot's main structure is engineered to provide minimal deflection and maximum service life during high-speed operation. Unilateral structures are used for models between 1500T and 1900T, while frame structures are applied to models from 2200T and above. This design approach ensures optimal rigidity and balanced load distribution across all tonnage ranges.
SERVO MOTOR AND AXIS CONFIGURATION
Titan Series robots are supplied as standard with a full 3-axis servo configuration and can be expanded up to a 5-axis servo system depending on application requirements.
Standard axis configuration:
- Traverse axis
- Vertical axis
- Crosswise axis
Optional axes:
- A axis
- B axis
- C axis
All axes are driven by AC servo motors. The A, B, and C axes located at the end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) enable multi-angle and multi-position part handling through servo-controlled rotary mechanisms, making the system suitable for complex take-out operations.
REPEATABILITY AND POSITIONING ACCURACY
Titan Series robots maintain high positioning accuracy even when handling heavy loads.
Repeatability values:
- 1500T - 1900T models: ±0.2 mm
- 2200T - 4000T models: ±0.3 mm
Thanks to precision gearboxes and high-quality transmission components, certain axes can achieve positioning accuracy levels as fine as ±0.15 mm.
COMPATIBLE INJECTION MOLDING MACHINE RANGE
Titan Series robots are designed to be compatible with all horizontal injection molding machines from 650 tons up to 6000 tons. For three-platen mold applications, telescopic arm structures and optional runner arms can be integrated into the system.
Compatible machine tonnage range:
- Minimum: 650 tons
- Maximum: 6000 tons
PAYLOAD CAPACITY
The Titan Series is developed specifically for heavy-duty part handling and offers high payload capacities suitable for large molded components.
Maximum payload capacity:
- 15 kg to 50 kg
These values include EOAT, vacuum systems, mechanical grippers, and auxiliary equipment.
STROKE LENGTHS AND REACHING DISTANCES
To accommodate large injection molding machines, Titan Series robots provide extended stroke ranges.
Typical stroke values:
- Traverse stroke: 2700 - 3500 mm
- Vertical stroke: 1700 - 3000 mm
- Crosswise stroke: 800 - 1300 mm
The telescopic arm design allows high vertical speed and stability even in production facilities with limited ceiling height.
SPEED AND CYCLE PERFORMANCE
With the high acceleration capability of the full servo system, the Titan Series achieves short cycle times even on large-tonnage injection molding machines.
Performance values:
- Minimum take-out time: 2.3 seconds
- Dry cycle time: up to 14 seconds
Actual cycle times may vary depending on payload, stroke length, and programmed motion profiles.
CONTROL SYSTEM AND OPERATOR INTERFACE
Titan Series robots are equipped with advanced industrial control systems, offering both economical and high-configuration control options.
Control system features:
- 7-inch touchscreen display
- Multi-user management
- Storage for up to 100 mold programs
