ALFA ROBOT PHOENIX SERIES - SWING ARM ROBOTS
Pneumatic High-Speed Part and Sprue Take-Out Systems for Injection Molding Machines

The Alfa Robot Phoenix Series is a pneumatic swing arm robot series developed for horizontal plastic injection molding machines ranging from 30 tons to 300 tons. The Phoenix Series is specifically designed to deliver high speed, a simple mechanical structure, and an economical automation solution for sprue picking and light product removal applications.

Thanks to its compact design, short cycle times, and low maintenance requirements, Phoenix Series swing arm robots represent an ideal entry-level and mid-range automation solution for injection molding plants focused on mass production, critical cycle times, and reducing operator dependency.

GENERAL TECHNICAL STRUCTURE AND OPERATING PRINCIPLE

Phoenix Series robots feature a swing arm structure driven by pneumatic cylinders. Compared to servo systems, this simpler and more economical design is highly effective in high-speed sprue picking and light part transfer applications.

After the mold opens, the robot removes the product or sprue using a swinging arm motion and places it at a predefined position. With the integrated rotation wrist mechanism, the product or sprue can be rotated by 90 degrees. This function provides a major advantage in part orientation and stacking operations.

Phoenix Series robots can be configured as:
- Sprue picking only (single function)
- Simultaneous product and sprue take-out (vacuum full function)

COMPATIBLE INJECTION MOLDING MACHINE RANGE

Phoenix Series swing arm robots are compatible with small and medium tonnage injection molding machines.

Compatible machine tonnage range:
- Minimum: 30 tons
- Maximum: 300 tons

This range covers one of the most widely used machine groups in packaging, technical parts, small home appliance components, and high-speed cycle production.

MODEL OPTIONS AND BASIC TECHNICAL DATA

Main Phoenix Series models:
- P450V
- P650VW
- P850WV

Key technical parameters:
- Vertical stroke: 450 - 850 mm
- Crosswise stroke: 120 - 200 mm
- Swing angle: 60° - 90°
- Maximum payload: 2 kg
- Minimum take-out time:
• P450V: 1.3 seconds
• P650VW: 1.7 seconds
• P850WV: 1.9 seconds
- Dry cycle time: 4.0 - 5.8 seconds

These values make the Phoenix Series extremely efficient for high-volume, short-cycle production.

PNEUMATIC SYSTEM AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION

Phoenix Series robots operate using pneumatic cylinders.

Pneumatic technical data:
- Working pressure: 5 kgf/cm² (approximately 0.49 MPa)
- Maximum allowable pressure: 8 kgf/cm² (approximately 0.8 MPa)
- Air consumption: 11 - 14 Nl per cycle

Electrical supply:
- Single-phase AC 220V ±10%
- 50 / 60 Hz

This configuration ensures low energy consumption and very simple installation and operation.

MECHANICAL DESIGN AND STRUCTURAL FEATURES

Phoenix Series robots are manufactured using high-rigidity aluminum alloy beams and linear guide systems. Thanks to the specially designed telescopic belt mechanism, the vertical arm height is significantly reduced. This design improves both speed and stability while enabling reliable operation in facilities with limited ceiling height.

Key mechanical features:
- Linear slide rail and linear guide system
- Lightweight and durable aluminum alloy structure
- Telescopic or single-stage arm options
- Compact, low-vibration design

ROTATION WRIST AND ADJUSTMENT MECHANISMS

The left-right rotation mechanism integrated into Phoenix Series robots allows easy adjustment of the product or sprue placement direction. This adjustment can be made via a mechanical adjustment screw without changing air lines or magnetic switches.

A special adjustment structure allows the robot to rotate 90 degrees during mold changes, significantly reducing mold-change time and increasing overall production efficiency.

OPTIONAL FUNCTIONS

Phoenix Series swing arm robots can be equipped with various optional features depending on production requirements:

- Vacuum system (vacuum generator and suction cups)
- Simultaneous product and sprue take-out
- Rotation wrist (90° product rotation)
- Telescopic arm
- Frame-type body structure
- Quickly adjustable mechanical stops

In vacuum-equipped models, air consumption values already include the vacuum function.

PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY AND ADVANTAGES

By using Phoenix Series swing arm robots:
- Production efficiency can be increased by 20% - 30%
- Product defect rates are reduced
- Operator safety is improved
- Labor costs are lowered
- The production process becomes more stable and controllable

These advantages make the Phoenix Series an ideal solution, especially for injection molding plants transitioning toward automation.

APPLICATION AREAS

Alfa Robot Phoenix Series is widely used in the following applications:
- Sprue picking operations
- Small and medium-sized injection molded parts
- Packaging products
- Small home appliance components
- Technical plastic parts

It is a suitable solution for all injection molding applications requiring high speed, simple structure, and economical investment cost.
