Labotek Con-Evator SVR Systems – Flexible and Reliable Process Feeding with High-Capacity Vacuum Material Conveying Technology

Developed by Labotek, the Con-Evator SVR series consists of professional vacuum material conveying systems designed for the reliable, gentle, and high-capacity transport of free-flowing plastic granules and powders in centralized or individual conveying lines. Con-Evator SVR solutions are optimized for industrial applications requiring long conveying distances and continuous operation in injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, compounding, and recycling processes.

The Con-Evator SVR series offers a modular system architecture with stainless-steel vacuum receivers ranging from 4 to 200 liters, powerful side-channel blowers that can be installed remotely, and a microprocessor-controlled intelligent control unit. This modularity allows the system to be scaled according to plant requirements and easily adapted to future capacity expansions.

General Operating Principle and Vacuum Conveying Concept

Labotek Con-Evator SVR systems operate based on a centralized or standalone vacuum station principle. The deep vacuum generated by the side-channel blower transports material through the suction probe and piping system into the vacuum receiver. Once the conveying cycle is completed, the filter inside the receiver is automatically cleaned and the material is discharged to the process through the lower flap.

In the standard configuration, filter cleaning is carried out using the blower reversing method, which does not require compressed air. For higher capacities and applications with heavy dust loads, a pneumatic blow-back valve can be used to achieve very fast and effective filter cleaning. This approach significantly extends filter life while minimizing maintenance requirements.

The system can be further enhanced with optional pipe cleaning valves, dosing valves, and closed-loop dryer integration.

Vacuum Receivers – SVR Series Design and Capacities

Con-Evator SVR vacuum receivers are manufactured entirely from AISI 304 stainless steel and are available in a wide volume range from 4 to 200 liters. Thanks to the modular design, the same vacuum receiver can be reconfigured with different filter or dosing options as process requirements change.

Available vacuum receiver volumes and basic dimensions are as follows:

SVR 4
Volume: 4 liters
Dimension A: 245 mm
Dimension B: 530 mm

SVR 8
Volume: 8 liters
Dimension A: 245–337 mm (depending on version)
Dimension B: 570–658 mm

SVR 16
Volume: 16 liters
Dimension A: 310 mm
Dimension B: 650 mm

SVR 26
Volume: 26 liters
Dimension A: 310 mm
Dimension B: 790 mm

SVR 50
Volume: 50 liters
Dimension A: 310–420 mm
Dimension B: 917–1087 mm

SVR 75
Volume: 75 liters
Dimension A: 420 mm
Dimension B: 1284 mm

SVR 100
Volume: 100 liters
Dimension A: 420 mm
Dimension B: 1404 mm

SVR 150

Dimension A: 600 mm
Dimension B: 1287 mm

SVR 200
Volume: 200 liters
Dimension A: 600 mm
Dimension B: 1512 mm

This wide range of receiver sizes covers all scenarios, from single-machine feeding to multi-point centralized conveying systems.

Vacuum Blower Options and Power Ranges

Con-Evator SVR systems can be configured with single or twin side-channel blowers depending on the application. These blowers generate deep vacuum at low air velocity, ensuring gentle material transport and preventing damage to the polymer structure.

Available blower options and motor power ratings:

LT3 – 0.37 kW
LT4 – 1.1 kW
LT5 – 1.1 kW
LT6 – 3.0 kW
LT12 – 4.0 kW
CP25 – 5.5 kW

All blowers are three-phase and designed for continuous operation. Optional frequency inverters can be used to achieve significant energy savings while extending the service life of piping and hose systems.

Conveying Capacities and Performance Data

Con-Evator SVR conveying capacities are specified based on Labotek test conditions with 5 m vertical conveying height, a maximum of 3 m antistatic hose, two 90° bends, and a material bulk density of approximately 0.6 kg/l.

Typical capacity ranges are as follows:

Small systems (SVR 4 – SVR 16):
90–270 kg/h

Medium systems (SVR 26 – SVR 50):
369–435 kg/h

Large systems (SVR 75 – SVR 200):
510–1050 kg/h

With high-capacity CP25 blower configurations:

Up to 1350 kg/h

For powder applications, special filter and blower combinations ensure high conveying stability.

Filtration and Cleaning Options

A wide range of filtration and cleaning options is available for Con-Evator SVR systems:

Cartridge filters
Coarse wire mesh filters
Self-purifying filters
Pneumatic blow-back valves
Dust cyclones (3, 10, and 20 liters)
Compressed-air-assisted filter cleaning

These options ensure optimal filtration and long service life for both granules and powder materials.

Dosing and Multi-Material Feeding

The Con-Evator SVR series offers dosing solutions for conveying virgin and regrind materials together:

IDV (Integrated Dosing Valve):
Integrated dosing solution for 8, 16, 26, and 50-liter vacuum receivers

RS2000 dosing valve:
External dosing system for receivers above 50 liters

These systems provide a simple and reliable solution for non-critical dosing applications.
